Terms of use
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and CamsAhead about your use of the website at CamsAhead.com, the installable CamsAhead web app, Drive, alert sign-ups and notifications, data files, and every related page, feature, file and interface (together, the "Service"). In these Terms, "CamsAhead" means the person or company that runs CamsAhead today. CamsAhead is run by Lattice Row LLC. These Terms were last updated on November 4, 2026.
By accessing or using the Service, or by ticking a box or pressing a button that refers to these Terms, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the CamsAhead Privacy Policy, which explains how CamsAhead handles personal information. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Drive asks you to tick a box accepting these Terms before you use it, and it does not start until you do. Email alerts, push notifications and camera reports show a line next to their button instead. The line says that tapping the button accepts these Terms, and using those features means you agree to them.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.
Contents ↑2. Who may use CamsAhead
You may use the Service only if you are at least thirteen years old. If you are under eighteen, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You may not use the Service where the law prohibits it.
Some features have higher limits. You must be at least eighteen to send a Submission. If you are under eighteen, you must not use Drive while you drive.
The Service is operated from the United States and is intended for use in the United States.
Contents ↑3. What CamsAhead is and is not
The Service is an information service. It shows the reported locations, types and status of road cameras and related information, compiled from public sources.
CamsAhead does not install, own, operate, maintain or control any camera. It has no access to any camera system, its controls or the data a camera collects, such as images or license plate reads. CamsAhead is not a government service, does not enforce any law, and does not issue, process, decide or contest citations.
The Service is not a navigation system, a safety system or an emergency service, and you must not rely on it as one.
Contents ↑4. Independence, trademarks and public data
CamsAhead is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected with any manufacturer, vendor, integrator or operator of cameras or related systems, including Flock Group, Inc. (Flock Safety), Motorola Solutions, Verra Mobility and Conduent, or any of their affiliates. Not affiliated with Flock Safety. CamsAhead is also not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government agency, including the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), the California Highway Patrol, any police or sheriff's department, or any other federal, state, county or city agency.
Company names, product names and trademarks that appear on the Service belong to their owners. CamsAhead uses them only to identify the equipment, products or organizations that a source describes (nominative use), and never to suggest sponsorship, endorsement or approval. CamsAhead does not use the logos, colors or typefaces of any camera company.
This section applies to the whole Service, wherever a company, product, agency or brand is named, whether or not this statement is repeated beside that name.
Camera information on the Service comes from public sources: government publications, open data and public records, and OpenStreetMap, a map that volunteers build and edit. When camera reports are available, it also comes from reports that users send (see Camera reports and other submissions). Labels such as "Made by" and "Run by" repeat what a source or a contributor tagged. They are not CamsAhead's statement of who made, owns or runs a camera. A plate reader labelled with a maker, such as Flock, is tagged with that manufacturer in OpenStreetMap. A page title, heading or web address that says "Flock cameras" refers to the plate readers that OpenStreetMap contributors tagged as Flock Safety, except the Flock sharing-network page, which repeats the sharing lists agencies post on their Flock transparency portals. It does not mean that Flock made every plate reader on the Service, and a tag can be wrong. The label "Run by: store or business" means that a contributor reported the camera at a store or other business. It does not identify, and is not a statement about, any particular business.
Contents ↑5. Data sources, accuracy and timeliness
Camera information changes often and comes from third parties that CamsAhead does not control. Cameras can be installed, moved, switched on, switched off or removed without notice, and a source can be late, incomplete or wrong. Points from OpenStreetMap are mapped by volunteers, and CamsAhead does not check them in the field. Some points come from public records, such as an agency's old notice or camera list, or a reply to a records request that another website posted. Such a list can be years old. The Service marks these points unverified and, on the map and in its lists, shows the list's date. A camera on such a list may have been moved or removed since. When the Service names an agency or a company tied to a camera, a program or a data-sharing list, it repeats what the cited source says, as of that source's date.
Dates, statuses, posted limits, fines and program rules are shown as the cited source states them on the date shown. If the Service differs from the cited source, the source controls. "Checked" means that CamsAhead compared its copy with the source on the date shown. It does not mean that anyone visited the location.
CAMSAHEAD MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY THAT ANY INFORMATION ON THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, UP TO DATE OR TIMELY; THAT ANY CAMERA SHOWN EXISTS, IS ACTIVE OR FACES ANY PARTICULAR DIRECTION; OR THAT A PLACE WHERE THE SERVICE SHOWS NO CAMERA HAS NO CAMERA OR NO ENFORCEMENT.
Contents ↑6. Not legal advice; obey the law
Information about traffic laws, fines, notices and how to contest a citation is general legal information, not legal advice. It may not reflect recent changes or your situation, and using the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship. For advice about your situation, consult a licensed attorney.
Always obey posted speed limits and signs. You must obey every traffic signal and applicable law at all times, whether or not the Service shows a camera. Nothing on the Service tells you what speed is lawful or prudent, and no alert, silence or map view permits any driving behavior. Any citation is a matter between you and the agency that issued it.
Do not use the Service while you drive, except Drive as Drive allows. Do not watch the 3D drive-by, browse the map, answer whether a camera is still there or fill in a form while you drive. If you use any part of the Service in a vehicle, Hands-free use and safety and Assumption of risk and release apply to that use as they apply to Drive.
Contents ↑7. Drive (Beta): safety and assumption of risk
Acceptance required
Drive starts only after you accept this section. Before your first drive, and again whenever these Terms change, Drive shows this statement with a box that you must tick: "I understand Drive is a beta awareness aid. Alerts can be late, wrong or missing. I’m responsible for driving safely and obeying all laws and posted limits, and I use Drive at my own risk. I agree to the Terms of Use." Drive does not start until the box is ticked. By ticking it, you agree to these Terms, including this section, and confirm that you have read them. Your browser keeps a note of your acceptance, the version of these Terms and the time, on your device only.
A beta awareness aid
Drive is a beta feature. It is experimental and unfinished, is offered for evaluation and feedback, may contain errors and may not work as described. CamsAhead may change, pause or withdraw it at any time without notice, and has no obligation to support, correct or keep it. Tell CamsAhead about problems through Report a problem.
No reliance
Drive is not a navigation, safety, collision-avoidance or driver-assistance system, and it does not tell you how to drive. It only lets you know, when it can, that a mapped camera may be ahead. Do not rely on Drive, on any alert or on the absence of an alert for any driving decision, including your speed. The absence of an alert does not mean that there is no camera, no enforcement or no hazard. CamsAhead has no duty to warn you of any camera, hazard or condition.
How Drive works, and its limits
Drive runs only while CamsAhead is open and on screen. If the screen locks, another app comes to the front, the browser stops the page, or location permission is off, alerts stop. Drive depends on your device, its GPS signal, the browser, the network, the battery and the camera data loaded on the device. Alerts may come late, early or not at all. They may name the wrong camera, the wrong direction or the wrong limit, and they may sound for a camera that is inactive, removed or aimed at other traffic. Distances are estimates. Spoken alerts and chimes may be silent when your device is muted. Drive keeps running, and keeps the screen on where your device allows it, until you stop it, which uses battery.
Hands-free use and safety
Your first duty is to drive safely and lawfully. You agree that you will:
- set up Drive, change its settings, finish a camera report or answer whether a camera is still there only while your vehicle is lawfully parked, or let a passenger do it. A vehicle stopped in traffic or at a light is not parked;
- while the vehicle is moving, look at Drive's screen only in quick glances;
- choose "I'm a passenger" only if you are not the driver;
- mount your device securely, where the law allows and where it does not block your view of the road;
- use Drive hands-free while the vehicle is moving: do not hold the device, and touch it only as the law of the place where you drive allows. In California, California Vehicle Code §23123.5 prohibits holding and operating a handheld wireless device while driving, and allows a mounted device to be touched only with a single tap or swipe to turn a feature on or off;
- not use Drive while you drive if you are under eighteen. California drivers under eighteen may not use a wireless device while driving, even hands-free (California Vehicle Code §23124);
- keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel, and let a passenger operate the device where possible;
- obey posted speed limits, signs, signals and traffic laws, and drive with care for road, weather and traffic conditions, whatever Drive shows or says; and
- follow the laws of every other state where you drive, which may be stricter.
Assumption of risk and release
You use Drive voluntarily and at your own risk. You alone are responsible for the operation of your vehicle and for your attention, conduct and compliance with the law while driving. You understand that using any device while driving can distract you, and that distraction can cause collisions, injury and death. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risks, known and unknown, that arise from your use of Drive, and you release CamsAhead and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from, and waive, any claim for any collision, injury, death, property damage, citation, fine, penalty, license point, insurance increase or other loss that arises from using, relying on or being unable to use Drive. This section is subject to Limitation of liability and does not limit any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Your location
Drive reads your position on your device. CamsAhead does not receive or store your position or your route. The Privacy Policy explains what the map and analytics receive while Drive runs.
Contents ↑8. Alerts and notifications
CamsAhead sends only the messages you asked for, and each one includes a way to stop them.
Alerts are a convenience, not a guarantee. Alerts by email or notification can be delayed, filtered, misdelivered, inaccurate or not sent, and they depend on third parties such as email providers and your browser's push service. Do not rely on an alert, or on the absence of one, to decide how to drive.
You can turn notifications off in My alerts at any time, and you can ask CamsAhead to delete your sign-up, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Contents ↑9. Camera reports and other submissions
This section applies whenever CamsAhead lets you report or add a camera, report a problem with a pin, send a correction, or otherwise send information or files (each, a "Submission"). Some of these features are not available yet. You must be at least eighteen to send a Submission, and sending one from a form that shows a line about these Terms accepts them.
Unverified reports on the public map
CamsAhead may show a camera report on the public map the moment it is sent, before anyone reviews it. A reported camera appears as a dashed pin with a count of reports, such as "1 report". When reports of the same camera come from 3 different devices, the pin turns solid and reads "Reported by 3 people". Every such pin remains a community report. Its label counts the reports received. It does not mean that CamsAhead, any agency or anyone else has verified the camera, its location, its type, its maker or its operator, and no pin is an official record. A reported pin with fewer than 3 reports is hidden after 30 days.
People near a reported camera can answer "Is it there?". An answer is a Submission, and each one counts at most once per device for each camera. When at least 5 different devices have reported a camera or answered that it is there, on at least 3 different days, and few have answered that it is gone, its pin reads "Seen by 5 people". When 3 people answer within 60 days that it is gone and no one answers that it is there after them, the pin is dimmed and CamsAhead may review it. After 5 such answers, it leaves the map, and its history of dates stays available. Before a pin reads "Seen by 5 people", each answer that it is gone cancels one report, so a few such answers can take it off the map sooner. A pin that leaves the map this way, or because it has too few reports, no longer shows its history. Every label counts the reports and answers received. It does not mean that CamsAhead, any agency or anyone else has verified the camera, its location, its type, its maker or its operator, and no pin is an official record.
Submissions are the statements of their senders
Information in a Submission is the statement of the person who sent it, not of CamsAhead. CamsAhead does not adopt, vouch for or guarantee any Submission. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAMSAHEAD IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY SUBMISSION, OR FOR ANY LOSS THAT ARISES FROM A SUBMISSION'S CONTENT, ACCURACY, DISPLAY OR REMOVAL.
Report a problem with this pin
Every reported pin carries a "Report a problem with this pin" link. Anyone can use it to tell CamsAhead that a pin is wrong, duplicated or unlawful, or that it shows a private home, a person or other private information. CamsAhead reviews these flags and may hide a pin while it reviews it. CamsAhead will promptly remove a pin that it learns shows a private home, a person or personal information. You can also write to hello@camsahead.com.
What CamsAhead may do
CamsAhead may review, edit, combine, label, hide, decline or remove any Submission or pin at any time, for any reason or no reason, without notice. CamsAhead has no obligation to display, keep or act on any Submission.
Your promises
By sending a Submission, you represent and warrant that:
- it is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and based on what you saw yourself from a public place;
- you obtained it lawfully, without trespassing, without stopping in a traffic lane and without using a phone while driving;
- it does not identify, show or describe any private individual, and it does not show or point to a private home, a home or doorbell camera, the inside of private property, a license plate or anyone's face;
- it reports only fixed cameras and related equipment, never the location of a person, a vehicle or a law enforcement officer;
- it names a business as a camera's operator only if a sign or a public record says so;
- it is not false, misleading, defamatory or harassing, and it is not sent to target any person or business; and
- you have the right to grant the licence below, and the Submission does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
Licence to CamsAhead
You keep any rights you have in your Submission. You grant CamsAhead a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, copy, modify, adapt, combine, publish, distribute, display and create derivative works from your Submission, in any medium. This includes the right to publish the camera's spot, type and direction from your Submission under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0, or any later licence that the OpenStreetMap Foundation adopts for OpenStreetMap. It also includes the right to add them to OpenStreetMap under the OpenStreetMap Contributor Terms, and to let OpenStreetMap mappers add them. Whoever adds them under this licence does so in their own name, not on your behalf. CamsAhead does not name you when it publishes a Submission. To the extent the law allows, you waive any moral rights in your Submission.
Photos
If the Service lets you attach a photo, only CamsAhead's reviewers see it, and it is never published. The Service removes location data (EXIF) from the photo on your device before it is sent. CamsAhead deletes the photo within 30 days or when the report closes, whichever comes first.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for your Submissions. You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless CamsAhead, as described in Indemnification, against any claim that arises from a Submission you send.
Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions or other feedback, CamsAhead may use them freely and without any obligation to you.
Contents ↑10. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service, or any information from it, to:
- break any law, or help anyone else break one;
- damage, disable, tamper with, obstruct, block, move or vandalize any camera, sign, pole or other equipment or property, or plan to do so;
- use, make or promote any device, product or technique meant to hide or alter a license plate, or to interfere with the operation of any camera or enforcement system;
- drive unlawfully or unsafely, or escape lawful identification or enforcement;
- harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, expose or harm any person, including camera owners and operators, their employees, property owners, public employees and law enforcement personnel;
- trespass, or enter any restricted area;
- send false, misleading or duplicate Submissions, or inflate a report count, for example by reporting from several devices;
- impersonate any person or organization, or state or imply that CamsAhead endorses you or that you are connected with CamsAhead;
- scrape, crawl or copy the Service by automated means beyond what Maps, charts and camera data allows, or send requests at a rate that burdens the Service;
- probe, scan or test the Service's security, get around its spam check, rate limits or other protections, or interfere with the Service or its providers;
- reverse engineer the Service, except as the law expressly allows; or
- frame or mirror the Service in a way that suggests a connection with CamsAhead or with any source.
11. Data licences, attribution and CamsAhead content
Plate reader data
License plate reader locations come from OpenStreetMap. Plate reader data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The CamsAhead plate reader layer, tables and change log are derived from that data and are available under the same licence. The Data page says how they are made. Plate readers that an agency lists, and cameras that users report, show on the same map in their own layers. CamsAhead offers those points under the same licence too, with each source named. It sends a free machine-readable copy of the plate reader data, those points included, to anyone who writes to hello@camsahead.com. Contains information from OpenStreetMap, which is made available here under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you use them, you must follow the licence, including its attribution ("© OpenStreetMap contributors", linked to openstreetmap.org/copyright) and its share-alike terms. Every page carries the notice in its footer; maps carry the OpenStreetMap credit in a corner.
Other data
Speed camera, red light camera and traffic camera data come from the public agencies named on each page and on the Sources page, or from files their contractors have made public, and keep their own terms, such as the Creative Commons Attribution licence for Caltrans camera lists. CamsAhead claims no ownership of third-party data.
Maps, charts and camera data
CamsAhead's own maps, charts and illustrations may be reused under the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 4.0), with credit to CamsAhead.com and a link to the page; one whose credit names another licence keeps that licence. The camera lists, map tiles, data files and features of the Service may not be copied in bulk, scraped or used to build a competing database, map or app. Search engines, answer engines and other automated tools, including scrapers, bots and AI agents, may read and cite pages, but may not copy the camera data, tiles or features in bulk. Reporters and researchers can ask for a data file at hello@camsahead.com; CamsAhead sends it under a short data-use agreement. This section does not limit any right you have under the Open Database License or another open licence that applies to particular data, such as the plate reader data.
CamsAhead content
Except for third-party data and content, the Service, including its text, design, graphics, software and compilations, is owned by CamsAhead and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, CamsAhead grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own lawful use. All other rights are reserved. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Open Database License or another open licence that applies to particular data. "CamsAhead" and its logos are trademarks of CamsAhead. You may not use them without permission, except to refer to the Service accurately.
Contents ↑12. Third-party services and links
The Service links to, and loads content from, third parties, such as map tiles, address search results, Google Street View, Caltrans traffic images and road information, OpenStreetMap and social networks. CamsAhead does not control them and is not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Live traffic images, camera lists and road information come from Caltrans and other agencies. CamsAhead does not control them and gives no warranty for them. A live image is shown as the agency serves it at that moment. CamsAhead does not copy or store images from traffic cameras, so it has no recordings and cannot provide footage of any event.
Contents ↑13. Privacy and data minimization
CamsAhead practices data minimization. It collects only what a feature you choose needs. It does not ask for your name, does not store your IP address, does not sell or share personal information, and does not use personal information for targeted advertising. If you sign up for email alerts, CamsAhead keeps your email address and the choices you send with it. The Privacy Policy lists what CamsAhead collects, why, and for how long.
Contents ↑14. Free service, changes and paid features
Will this stay free? Everything here is free today. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you first, and nothing changes without your OK.
In legal terms: the Service is provided free of charge and without an account. If CamsAhead offers paid features in the future, it will give you notice before they are offered to you. CamsAhead will not charge you, and will not move any feature you use from free to paid for you, unless you first give your express, affirmative consent to the price and terms at that time. Any paid subscription that renews automatically will be offered in compliance with the California Automatic Renewal Law (California Business and Professions Code §17600 and following) and other applicable law, including a clear disclosure of the offer terms, your affirmative consent, an acknowledgment you can keep, and an easy way to cancel online.
Apart from that promise about charges, CamsAhead may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, including any data layer, area or feature, at any time, with or without notice, and is not liable to you for doing so.
Contents ↑15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL INFORMATION, DATA, ALERTS AND CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAMSAHEAD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS AND QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
CAMSAHEAD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ALERTS WILL BE DELIVERED OR TIMELY, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Contents ↑16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- CAMSAHEAD AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE OR GOODWILL; OR FOR ANY TRAFFIC CITATION, FINE, PENALTY, FEE, LICENSE POINT OR INSURANCE INCREASE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY; AND
- THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF CAMSAHEAD AND THOSE PERSONS FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID CAMSAHEAD FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS MUST BE FILED WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER IT AROSE, OR IT IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
These limits apply to claims that arise from information on the Service, Submissions, alerts, Drive, data files and third-party content, and they apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, FOR WILLFUL INJURY TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER, FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR FOR VIOLATION OF LAW (California Civil Code §1668), OR ANY RIGHT YOU HAVE AS A CONSUMER THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED BY CONTRACT.
The limits in this section are part of the basis of the bargain between you and CamsAhead, which offers the Service free of charge.
Contents ↑17. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless CamsAhead and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine, cost or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arises out of or relates to:
- your use or misuse of the Service;
- your Submissions;
- your violation of these Terms, of any law or of the rights of any third party; or
- your operation of any vehicle while using the Service.
CamsAhead may take over the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you must indemnify it, and you will cooperate with that defense. This section does not require you to indemnify CamsAhead for its own fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Contents ↑18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. CamsAhead may suspend or end your access to all or part of the Service at any time and without notice if it reasonably believes that you have violated these Terms or the law, or to protect the Service, its users or others.
The sections on Submissions, data licences, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law and general terms survive the end of these Terms or of your use of the Service.
Contents ↑19. Changes to these Terms
CamsAhead may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of these Terms shows the latest version. Features that ask you to accept these Terms, such as Drive, may ask you to accept the updated Terms before you use them again. If a change is material, CamsAhead will give reasonable advance notice before it takes effect, by a notice on the Service and by email to people who signed up for alerts. A change does not apply to a dispute that arose before the change took effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
Contents ↑20. Governing law and venue
These Terms, and any dispute that arises out of or relates to them or to the Service, are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Before filing a claim, please contact CamsAhead at hello@camsahead.com so that it can try to resolve the dispute informally. To the extent the law allows, any dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and CamsAhead consent to the personal jurisdiction of, and venue in, those courts. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if the claim qualifies, and CamsAhead may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect its intellectual property or the Service.
If you live outside California, this section does not take away any protection of the law of your state of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
Contents ↑21. Copyright and trademark complaints
If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright or trademark, send a written notice by email to hello@camsahead.com. The notice must identify the work or mark, the content and where it appears on the Service, and your name, postal address, telephone number and email address. It must also include a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner, with your physical or electronic signature. CamsAhead may remove or disable the content and, in appropriate circumstances, end the access of repeat infringers.
Contents ↑22. General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any additional terms shown for a specific feature, are the entire agreement between you and CamsAhead about the Service, and replace any earlier agreement on that subject.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.
- No waiver. A failure or delay in enforcing any provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without CamsAhead's prior written consent. CamsAhead may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
- No third-party beneficiaries. Except for the persons protected by the sections on limitation of liability and indemnification, these Terms create no rights for anyone other than you and CamsAhead.
- Events beyond control. CamsAhead is not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of networks, hosting providers, data sources or other third-party services.
- Electronic communications. You consent to receive communications from CamsAhead electronically, and you agree that electronic notices, disclosures and agreements satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.
- Notices. CamsAhead may give you notice on the Service or, if you gave an email address, by email. Legal notices to CamsAhead must be sent by email to hello@camsahead.com.
- Interpretation. Headings are for convenience only. "Including" means "including without limitation". If a translation of these Terms conflicts with the English version, the English version controls.
- Relationship. These Terms do not create any agency, partnership, joint venture or employment relationship.
