Mapped Wyoming data center sites, with their power, water and risk
One app for every Wyoming county: data center sites, power, grid and FEMA risk, with hearing alerts and an API. 23 data center buildings are mapped in 2 of its 23 counties, and businesses pay 9.53¢ per kWh for power, 29% below the US average.
23 mapped buildings sit in 2 of Wyoming's 23 counties. Laramie County has the most: 22.

Business power in Wyoming costs 9.53¢ per kWh, 29% below the US, and demand grew 58% since 2019.
9.53¢ per kWh in 2025, 29% below the US average of 13.37¢.
Business power use in Wyoming grew 58% since 2019, almost 6 times the US rate (+10.5%).
45.6 TWh generated in 2025: coal 58%, wind 28%, natural gas 10%.
Under 1% each: other gases, other (eia's catch-all), petroleum.
3,498 MW of new plants are proposed for 2026–2030, about a third of today's 11,826 MW: solar 41%, other 31%, wind 15%, nuclear 10%, natural gas 3%.
No ISO/RTO covers Wyoming's power sales; inland flooding, tornadoes and wildfires cost it most.
Wyoming has no ISO/RTO : utilities balance their own areas for all of its retail sales.
Share of 2025 retail sales, by each utility's balancing authority .
Wyoming's power plants took in 63.7 billion gallons of water in 2024 to cool and returned about 82%; 11.4 billion gallons were used up .
Inland flooding, tornadoes and wildfires are Wyoming's biggest risks: each rates low against other states .

Buildings and sites that OpenStreetMap volunteers have tagged as data centers. It counts mapped objects, not an official register, so some data centers are not on it yet.
FEMA's drought rating is our water view for each county: how much drought is expected to cost a year, against the rest of the US.
FEMA's National Risk Index estimates what each hazard costs a year, on average, in damage to buildings, crops and people. It then rates each county or state against the rest of the US, from Very low to Very high. "Rate high" here means Relatively high or Very high.

The average price businesses paid for one kilowatt-hour of electricity in 2025: their total bills divided by the power they bought. Wyoming ranks 7th cheapest of 51 (the 50 states and DC).
An ISO or RTO runs the high-voltage grid and the wholesale power market for a region. Wyoming has none: each utility balances its own area.
Electricity sold to businesses: offices, shops and most data centers. EIA does not count data centers on their own; most sit in this group. Wyoming sold 3.6 TWh in 2019 and 5.7 TWh in 2025.
Latest 12 months (2025-09 to 2026-08): 5.9 TWh, +8.2% on the 12 months before.
A terawatt-hour is a billion kilowatt-hours: a measure of how much electricity is made or used over time.
New generators that plant owners have reported to EIA for 2026–2030. They are plans, not commitments: some are delayed or dropped.
EIA's own "Other" group, for sources outside its main fuel types. EIA does not split it further in this table, so neither do we.
The organisation that keeps supply and demand matched, minute by minute, in its area. Each utility reports its sales under one.
Taken in (withdrawn): water a power plant pulls from a river, lake or well to cool. Used up (consumed): the part that evaporates and does not go back. These are power plant figures, the grid's water, not data center water.
